What are reed straws?

Reed straws are made out of reed plants - the kind found in wetlands and used to make all sorts of products, from paper to musical instruments. A tall plant with slender leaves in the grass family, they grow quickly in water or on marshy ground. The reed has a strong, regenerative ability and can be cut 2-3 times per year, while leaving the root in place. The stalk wall is hard and the diameter is ideal as a straw for most drinks.

After trying these straws for the first time, we were convinced. Perfectly shaped. Strong but plant-based. Reusable but inexpensive enough that they can be used once. Not to play favorites, but this is a special straw. Right now, we offer two diameters with one length that should work for most drinks. If you would like to see other sizes for specialized cups/beverages, we would love to hear from you here.

Our reed straws work great in almost every drink out there and add some style to any glass. Don't take our word for it, though. Try them out yourself and let us know what you think!
